Leander Toney automatically qualified for nationals in the high jump

Leander Toney had an NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the high jump and Kevin Raymond posted a provisional mark in the 400 meters to lead the IUP track and field team at the Lake Erie Mid-Week Invitational.

Toney improved his national standing one inch to 6 feet, 11 inches to tie for fourth in the country. Raymond won the 400 meters with a time of 48.27 and also took first in the 200 meters in 21.69. He had already provisionally qualified for nationals in the latter event.

On the women's side, Venessa Boyd was the top finisher by taking second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.39, one spot ahead of teammate Jhana Jones, who crossed the finish line in 1:00.49.
