Brianna Liebold qualified for nationals in the triple jump Saturday

Brianna Liebold won the triple jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 38 feet, 9 ¾ inches and Maddy Outman, Stacie Stockard and Nicole Shannon also won event titles at the Red Flash Open hosted by St. Francis.

Outman won the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.42 and was second overall and first among college runners in the 800 in 2:19.58. Liebold and Outman were joined by Tamika Taylor and Carlysha Towns to place third in the 4 x 400 relay in 4:04.33.

Stockard won the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 11:50.6 and Shannon had the best throw in the javelin with a distance of 129-7. In addition to her leg on the relay team, Taylor tied for second in the 100 (12.71), and Emma Rybczynski was the runner-up in the 3000 (10:36.44).

Ben Havko had the best performance for the men's team, finishing sixth in the 1500 with a time of 4:04.42.

Selected IUP athletes will compete at the Jesse Owens Invitational being held at Ohio State next Saturday. That will serve as the final tune-up for the PSAC meet which takes place May 7-9 at Millersville.
