The IUP men’s and women’s swim
teams participated in the second annual Salvation Army Swim on November
2. Thirty-three swimmers completed the full 300-lap fundraiser within
the 2-hour time limit.
More than $4,000 was raised this
year – $2,500 more than last year’s amount – with a portion of the
proceeds benefiting the Indiana Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is an
international non-profit organization that provides social aid and
disaster relief to more than 111 countries.
The money raised in the IUP
Salvation Army Swim will directly benefit Indiana’s Salvation Army and
the local people it serves.
Swim team members posed with Coach
Chris Villa and Captain David Means, representing Indiana’s Salvation
Army.
