The women’s swim team
increased their lead to 29 points over Division I Saint Francis University
on the second day of the Crimson Hawk Invitational.
Leading the women were
Melissa Kucharczuk, who won the 200 freestyle with an NCAA “B” cut time of
1:56.38, and Jen Price, who placed second in the same event, also swimming a
“B” cut (1:56.92). Kucharczuk and Price also combined with Brittany Watkins
and Kate Rowe to win the 800 freestyle relay (7:55.70).
Rowe won the 100 breastroke
with a “B” cut time of 1:07.06, with Tara Pitts (1:08.41) and Watkins
(1:09.65) taking second and third places.
Watkins also placed third in
the 400 individual medley (4:49.89), Galit Regev placed fourth in the 100
butterfly (1:00.82), and Casey Beck took fourth in the 100 backstroke
(1:02.55).
The 200 medley relay team of
Erin Barbetta, Kate Rowe, Galit Regev and Abbey Doran placed second
(1:52.52).
For the men, Pawel Glowiak swam NCAA “A” cuts in
the 100 backstroke (50.94) and the 100 butterfly (50.03).
Dylan Mudlo won the 100 butterfly (53.58), Dennis
Collins won the 200 freestyle (1:46.86), Jason Mohring won the 100
breastroke (1:03.02) and Chris Crooks won the 100 backstroke (56.91).
The three-day invitational concludes Saturday with
prelims beginning at 9 a.m. and finals at 3 p.m.
