IUP Women's Swimming Defeats Lock Haven, Improves to 5-1 in Dual Meets (12/1/07)

The IUP women’s swim team defeated Lock Haven 138-103 to improve their record to 5-1. Lock Haven does not have a men’s team.

Winning two individual events for the Crimson Hawks were Heidi Mitskavich in the 500 freestyle (5:24.15) and 1000 freestyle (10:53.95), Jordan Myers in the 100 butterfly (1:02.12) and 200 butterfly (2:16.55) and Brittany Watkins in the 200 IM (2:18.06) and 200 breaststroke (2:29.61).

Melissa Kucharczuk won the 200 freestyle (2:02.14), Kate Rowe won the 100 breastroke (1:09.59), Abbey Doran won the 50 freestyle (25.20), and Galit Regev won the 100 freestyle (55.24).

The 200 medley relay team of Erin Barbetta, Rowe, Watkins and Doran won with a time of 1:55.00, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Doran, Watkins, Kucharczuk and Regev also placed first (1:42.77).

For the men, Dylan Mudlo won the 200 freestyle (1:52.21) and 500 freestyle (5:05.64).  Jason Mohring won the 100 breaststroke (1:07.23), Jeff Gavin won the 50 freestyle (23.12), Brad Smith won the 100 freestyle (51.20) and Luke Shaheen won the 100 butterfly (58.48).  

The 200 medley relay of Mudlo, Mohring, Shaheen and Gavin placed first (1:45.62).  

Both teams return to action January 11 when they face Darton College and Florida Southern in Darton, Ga.
