The IUP men's cross country team took second place while the women were third at the Lock Haven Invitational.

The Crimson Hawks men's cross country team finished with 91 points, which was 74 points behind the first place Bald Eagles of Lock Haven.

IUP finished second of nine teams and held off third place West Chester University by a mere 11 points.

The IUP men were led by freshmen Clint Keller, who finished ninth in the 10K race with a time of 26:59. He was followed in the top five by Colt Mack (17th, 27:12), Josh Joson (18th, 27:13), Matt Rutt (28th, 28:04), and Steve Wainwright (37th, 28:48).

The IUP women's team finished with 95 points, which was 57 points behind first place Lock Haven University and 19 points behind second place West Chester University.

The Crimson Hawks were led by freshmen Alyssa Taddie, who finished sixth in the 6K race with a time of 23:46. She was followed in the top five by Kelly Best (14th, 24:17), Jane Looby (25th, 24:48), Julie Johnson (26th, 24:51), Lauren Bauer (27th, 24:52).

The IUP men's and women's cross country teams will see its next action on Saturday when they host the IUP Invitational at 10:00 a.m.
