The IUP cross country team battled through cold, snowy conditions on a muddy course at the Penn State Nationals, a meet that was moved to Lock Haven's West Branch Course due to weather conditions in State College.

The IUP men were led by Hillary Mugun, who finished 36th in a field of 130 runners, covering the 8k distance in a time of 26:09. Clint Keller equaled his personal best with a mark of 27:00 while Colt Mack was the third Crimson Hawk runner in the top 100, posting a time of 27:44.

The men edged out Slippery Rock for 10th place in a meet dominated by Division I teams. The Rock had defeated IUP earlier in the season.

Bridget Connolly was the top finisher for the Crimson Hawk women with a time of 23:45 on the 6k course.

Both IUP teams will head to Edinboro on October 31 for the PSAC championships.
