Fifteen of the 32 members of the IUP baseball roster earned spots on the dean's list and a total of 23 players had fall 2009 semester grade point averages of 3.00 or higher. Dean's list recognition is given to students with a GPA of 3.25 or higher each semester. Of the 15 Crimson Hawk baseball players to achieve that distinction in the fall, four received a perfect 4.0 GPA. That foursome includes seniors Jake Rougeaux and Eric Bruno, junior Travis Bobik and freshman Robbie Zinsmeister. As a team, IUP had a semester cumulative GPA of 3.21, the highest since Jeff Ditch became head coach in 2005. The previous high for a team GPA for any semester was 3.09 in fall 2008. In addition to the four players who achieved a 4.0 in the fall, other dean's list qualifiers were seniors T.J. Nichols, Jamie Smith and Mark Woleslagle, juniors Frank Sirolli, Greg Stewart and Andrew Welch, sophomores Craig Hibell, Jeff Lluberes, Pat Smith and Dylan Songer and freshman Stephen Cooke. |
