Darryl Webb scored 20 points, Akida McLain had 18 points and nine rebounds and Thomas Young tallied 17 to lead IUP to an easy 81-55 victory over Edinboro to complete the first round of PSAC West play with a perfect 7-0 record.

IUP, ranked No. 6 in the nation and No. 1 in the NCAA Atlantic Region, improved to 18-1 overall and won its 14th straight home game. Including this year's 10-0 record at Memorial Field House, the Crimson Hawks are 24-2 at home the past two years.

Edinboro dropped to 8-12 and 2-5 in the division and is in danger of its first losing season since the 1996-97 season.

Webb hit 9 of 14 from the field and reached the 20-point mark for the fourth time in the past five games and 20th time overall this season. The Crimson Hawks had assists on 26 of 32 baskets, including a season-best eight by Kevin Stewart and five each by Young and Ashton Smith, and held a 41-33 advantage on the boards while committing only 10 turnovers.

Justin Moore led the Fighting Scots with 12 points followed by Chris Klimchock and Anthony Lytle with 10 each.

IUP's third straight win over Edinboro was never close after the Crimson Hawks scored 27 of the final 33 points of the first half to turn a 19-14 lead into a 26-point margin at halftime. McLain, Young and Webb combined for 31 points in the first half while Julian Sanders hit three 3-pointers.

The lead reached as high as 31 in the second half when a 3-pointer by Young made it 57-26 with 15:07 remaining. Edinboro got within 20 on three occasions the rest of the way but no closer.

The trio of 3-pointers by Sanders increased his career total to 120 to move into sole possession of seventh place in school history.

IUP begins the second go around through the PSAC West at Clarion on Saturday. The Crimson Hawks downed the Golden Eagles 76-60 in the conference opener at home on January 13.
