IUP redshirt freshman forward Darryl Webb has been named the PSAC West Rookie of the Week for the second time in as many weeks. In two games last week, Webb (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) scored 31 points, grabbed 25 rebounds, dished out four assists and made two steals as the Crimson Hawks lost to Alderson-Broaddus on Tuesday and defeated Mercyhurst on Sunday. Webb, who has double doubles in all three games this year, had 19 points and 12 boards in a 67-48 loss to the 14th-ranked Battlers. He came back with 12 points and 13 rebounds in a 67-45 victory over the Lakers. Webb had two assists and two steals in both games and blocked two shots against Alderson-Broaddus. Through the first three games of the season, Webb is averaging a PSAC best 12.7 rebounds per game and leads the Crimson Hawks and ranks eighth in the conference with an average of 18.3 points per contest. IUP is off to a 2-1 start and begins PSAC crossover play this weekend with games against Bloomsburg on Saturday and Mansfield on Sunday. Both contests begin at 3 p.m. |
