Darryl Webb Selected PSAC West Rookie of the Week for Third Time this Season

IUP freshman forward Darryl Webb has been selected the PSAC West Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.

In the three games the award covers, Webb averaged 17.3 points and 8.7 rebounds while adding six assists and six steals. He made 19 of 42 field goal attempts, including four from 3-point range, and 10 of 15 from the free throw line.

Webb posted his fourth double-double of the season with 23 points and 13 rebounds in an 86-36 win over Penn State Greater Allegheny on December 10. He also had three assists, two steals and blocked two shots against the Lions.

He followed that up with 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 61-51 loss to Gannon last Monday and 17 points, eight boards and two steals in a 59-52 loss at Cheyney on Wednesday.

For the season, Webb is averaging 18.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game to rank third and second, respectively, in the PSAC in those categories. He also stands 12th in the conference with a field goal percentage of .504. In the latest NCAA statistics, Webb stood 20th in the nation in rebounding.

IUP is 6-3 on the season and is off until January 2 when the Crimson Hawks host Pitt Greensburg in a 7:30 game at Memorial Field House.
