IUP freshman forward Darryl Webb has been selected the PSAC West Rookie of the Week after helping IUP split a pair of division games against Slippery Rock and Edinboro. Webb began the week with eight points, eight rebounds, two steals and three blocked shots in a 61-53 home victory over Slippery Rock on Wednesday. In an 80-60 loss at Edinboro on Saturday, he scored 16 points, grabbed another eight boards, dished out two assists, made two steals and blocked a shot. For the season, Webb is fifth in the PSAC in scoring at 17.1 and second in rebounding at 8.9, easily leading all conference first-year players in both categories. He also ranks ninth in the league in 3-point field goal percentage, hitting 26 of 65 for 40.0 percent. The Crimson Hawks are 10-8 overall and stand in third place in the PSAC West with a 2-1 division record. IUP hosts Shippensburg on Wednesday at 7:30. |
