Andrew Krewatch threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Rodriguez with 9:27 remaining in the fourth quarter, sparking a 21-point rally that lifted IUP to a 38-23 victory over East Stroudsburg in a PSAC crossover game at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

The win improved the Crimson Hawks to 2-0 for the sixth time in the past eight seasons while the Warriors fell to 1-2. IUP has defeated East Stroudsburg each of the past two seasons, scoring a total of 73 points.

Kareem Dutrieuille ran 25 yards for a touchdown to cap an 80-yard drive, and Terrence Jackson returned a fumble 49 yards for a score to account for the other two IUP touchdowns in its comeback.

Jackson also had four solo tackles, two stops behind the line of scrimmage, including a sack, and led a Crimson Hawks defense that limited East Stroudsburg to just three points and fewer than 100 yards of total offense in the second half.

For his performance, Jackson was named the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week. The two-time all-conference linebacker and 2005 PSAC West Rookie of the Year picked up the conference's weekly award for the second time in his career.

Krewatch completed 16 of 32 passes for 244 yards and also had a six-yard touchdown pass to Dan Pickens in the early stages of the second quarter that gave IUP a 14-7 lead. Pickens had four catches for 50 yards, and Ken Witter made four receptions for 82 yards.

Poohbear McNeal had his first 100-yard game in an IUP uniform, gaining 103 yards in 21 carries and scoring from seven yards out with 2:28 left in the first quarter to tie the game at 7. Dutrieuille added 76 yards on 16 carries and his touchdown gave both him and McNeal three on the young season.

East Stroudsburg led 20-17 at halftime. Tim Roken had scoring passes of seven and 65 yards to Sam Shuman, the first set up on a 71-yard interception return by Steve Van Alstine. Greg Knauss added field goals of 20 yards and a school-record 53-yarder at the end of the first half.

Roken completed 18 of 39 passes for 259 yards. He was intercepted by Myke Wells late in the game to squelch any hope for a late East Stroudsburg comeback.

Matt McNelis made his first field goal for IUP, a 32-yarder midway through the second quarter. Knauss' third field goal of the game from 37 yards out in the first minute of the fourth quarter gave the Warriors their 23-17 lead before IUP rallied.

IUP returns home on Saturday for its third straight game against a PSAC East opponent, a 1 p.m. game against Millersville. The Crimson Hawks will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak to the Marauders.
