IUP freshman tailback Harvie Tuck has been chosen the PSAC West Co-Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 218 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-0 victory over Lock Haven. He shares the award with Gannon quarterback Zach Boedicker. Tuck is the third IUP player recognized by the PSAC this season. Abe Satterfield won top defensive honors after the season opener at Southern Connecticut State and tailback Tobias Robinson was selected after the Millersville game in week three. Tuck (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) carried 32 times and averaged 6.8 yards per attempt. He scored on runs of one yard in the first quarter and four yards in the second. Tuck would have had a third score but fumbled at the goal line at the end of a 21-yard run and a teammate recovered in the end zone for the touchdown. Tuck had six runs of 10 or more yards including a long of 38 that set up another second quarter score. The 218 yards are the most ever by an IUP freshman and the 10th-highest figure in school history. It is also the most by a running back in the PSAC so far this season. After not playing during the first four games of the season, Tuck saw his first action in relief of injured starter Tobias Robinson versus Slippery Rock and ran for 96 yards. He has rushed for a total of 391 yards, and his average of 97.8 yards would lead the PSAC if he appeared in the required number of games to qualify. |
