IUP won its second team title in as many events during the early portion of the fall season, rolling to a 13-shot victory over Ohio Valley at the Hal Hansen Invitational hosted by Clarion.

The Crimson Hawks had matching rounds of four-under par 284 on the par 72 Clarion Oaks Golf Club course. The host Golden Eagles finished 18 shots behind IUP at 586, followed by California at 592 and Millersville at 594. A total of 14 teams were entered in the tournament.

IUP also won the Burger King/Ohio Valley Invitational earlier this month and has won a total of seven tournaments the past two years, including its second straight PSAC and NCAA Super Regional titles last year.

Ryan Kennedy was the top individual for the Crimson Hawks, shooting a two-under par score of 142 to finish one stroke behind Cory Dillinger of Davis & Elkins and J.R. Jones of Ohio Valley. Dillinger won medalist honors over Jones in a playoff.

The top five IUP golfers all finished in the top 15, with three shooting even par or better. Brad Boyle tied for fourth at 143 and Nic Milito tied for seventh at 144 to finish one under and even par, respectively. Gavin Smith tied for 12th at 145 and Leo Acklin tied for 15th at 146.

Boyle and Smith both had team-best rounds of 68 on Monday while Kennedy and Milito fashioned rounds of 69 on Sunday.

Sean Sweithelm, a freshman from Indiana High School, saw his first college action and tied for 50th with a score of 155.

The Crimson Hawks will look to continue their winning streak September 28-29 when they travel to the state of Indiana to compete in the University of Indianapolis Invitational.
