IUP rallied late in the second half but fell to PSAC East field hockey opponent C.W. Post 3-2. The Crimson Hawks fell behind early and went into the half down two scores but would pull to within one Saturday morning at George P. Miller Stadium. IUP fell to 4-7 on the season but remained at 4-2 in the division. The Pioneers improved to 5-7 overall. In the first half C.W. Post tallied the first goal by Krystal Napolitano and a second goal ten minutes later by Amanda Nann. In the second half the Crimson Hawks would answer with a Caroline van Tulder goal assisted by Jenna Humphreys to pull within one. Napolitano recorded her second goal of the game for the Pioneers only five minutes after the van Tulder score. Jenn Metzler posted her first goal of the season and Trish Morris recorded her first assist in a late rally by the Crimson Hawks. Renee Lustenhouwer made two saves for IUP, while Cortney Colern had seven for C.W. Post. IUP will play its next game on the road at Slippery Rock Tuesday at 4 p.m. |
