Stats

Jess Frantz and Sylvia Guerrieri scored second half goals to enable IUP to break away from a scoreless tie and post a 2-0 victory at Kutztown as the Crimson Hawks remained perfect in 12 games this season.

IUP, ranked No. 1 in the STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll, are three wins away from completing the first undefeated regular season in school history. Kutztown lost for only the third time in 15 games.

Frantz gathered in a rebound of a shot and put the ball past Kutztown goalkeeper Emily Falko with 24:19 remaining in the game to give the Crimson Hawks the lead. Sylvia Guerrieri converted a penalty stroke nine minutes later for an insurance goal.

Lydia Dolly preserved the shutout with six saves, a total matched by Falko. IUP held a 15-7 edge in shots and 14-10 in penalty corners.

The Crimson Hawks return home for a non-conference game Sunday versus Bellarmine beginning at 5 p.m.
