The IUP field hockey team has placed freshmen Caroline van Tulder and Erin Shirk on the All-PSAC West squad for the 2009 season. Tulder, from Amstelveen, the Netherlands, scored three goals and added three assists from her center back position. She was tied for second on the team in assists and fourth in points while adding one defensive save. Shirk, a left midfielder from Paradise, Pa., did not score during her rookie season but played a key role in pushing the Crimson Hawk offensive attack with her passing skills and providing balance in the midfield. |
