IUP dropped a 2-1 double overtime decision to Gannon but still clinched the fourth and final berth from the PSAC West in the conference playoffs when Slippery Rock defeated California.

The Crimson Hawks (12-8, 8-6 PSAC West) finished the regular season with 24 points and moved one point ahead of California for a spot in the playoffs, earning a rematch with Gannon (11-5-2, 9-3-2) in the PSAC quarterfinals Tuesday in Erie.

The Golden Knights had 29 points and finished one point ahead of Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock in the division standings. The Rock will host the Lakers in the other PSAC West quarterfinal game.

In the PSAC East, Kutztown plays at Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg visits West Chester. Tuesday's winners will play in the PSAC final four at the home of the top remaining seed in the Western Division.

In Saturday's loss to Gannon, Jamie Shadd scored with 5:55 into the second overtime period to give the Golden Knights the victory and the division title in their first season in the PSAC. Heather Robbins scored IUP's lone goal, her 13th of the season, to tie the game with 30:35 left in the second half.

The Golden Knights had led 1-0 since the 3:22 mark of the first half on a goal by Amanda Sharbaugh. Shadd and Sharbaugh also assisted on each other's goals.

Gannon held a 30-14 advantage in shots, with Kelly Brennan making 15 saves for IUP. Sabrina Chirco had seven saves for the Golden Knights.
