The IUP women's soccer team has been named a recipient of the Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 school year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and adidas.

The award is presented to teams that achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 for the entire academic year and "demonstrates a program's commitment to achievement on the field and in the classroom."

The Crimson Hawks compiled an impressive team GPA of 3.31 during the fall and spring semesters a year ago to earn the award for the fourth time in the program's history. IUP was also recognized by the NSCAA in 1999, 2001 and 2007.
