The IUP women's soccer team has been named as a recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association Ethics and Sportsmanship Award for the 2008 season.

The Crimson Hawks were one of just 12 teams out of almost 260 Division II women's soccer teams in the nation to receive the award and one of just two from the PSAC.

The honor is based on the number of yellow cards received for the season, and IUP was penalized just six times in 23 games to earn a bronze medal from the NSCAA.

While being one of the least penalized teams in the PSAC, IUP also achieved a great deal of success during the 2008 season, winning 13 games including victories over Gannon and East Stroudsburg to reach the championship of the PSAC tournament.
