IUP was held to six hits by Lock Haven All-America pitcher Kristin Erb and lost both ends of a PSAC Central doubleheader to the Bald Eagles by scores of 9-0 and 8-0 Saturday at Podbielski Field.

IUP dropped to 16-16 overall and 3-7 in the PSAC Central and Lock Haven is 34-5 and 11-1 in the division. The Bald Eagles are ranked fifth in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll.

The Crimson Hawks had six singles in the two games, including two by Kristen Tunno, and Erb had a total of 17 strikeouts.

In the first game, Lock Haven got the only run it would need right away when Ilia Lopez led off with a solo homer. The Bald Eagles took advantage of six walks to score four times in the third and tacked on to their lead with three in the fourth and one in the fifth.

The nightcap was scoreless until the third when Julia Popovich singled and scored on a base hit by Amanda Roosa. Lock Haven scored twice more in the fourth and put it out of reach with a four-run fifth.

IUP plays another PSAC Central doubleheader Tuesday at Bloomsburg.
