Alex Daughenbaugh was named to the NFCA All-Atlantic Region second team

IUP senior centerfielder Alex Daughenbaugh has been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Atlantic Region second team for her performance during the 2009 season.

Daughenbaugh had team-leading totals of 50 hits and 138 at bats and her .362 batting average was second on the Crimson Hawks and 20th in the PSAC. She also led IUP with 11 doubles and 27 runs scored and had a triple, two home runs and 16 RBIs.

Daughenbaugh paced the Crimson Hawks with 14 multiple hit games, including three games with three hits and three four-hit performances. The first team All-PSAC Central choice started all 38 games and served as IUP's leadoff hitter for the majority of the season.

Daughenbaugh is in the top 10 in school history in seven offensive categories. She stands third in hits (173) and doubles (33), fifth in at bats (507), sixth in batting average (.341), seventh in stolen bases (21), eighth in total bases (226) and ninth in runs scored (73).
