The IUP women's tennis team defeated PSAC East rival West Chester 6-3 Saturday afternoon. Major wins for IUP included Katie Eaton's 6-3, 6-3 victory over Brittany Counts and Kelly McBryan's 6-2, 6-4 comeback over Kara Shumock. McBryan was losing to Shumock 0-4 in the second set but retaliated, winning six games in a row, and came through in the clutch for IUP. Chloe Pike and Emilia Osborne posted an 8-1 doubles victory over Luisiana Souto and Shumock. Eaton and Emily Shubra won a close 8-6 double against Counts and Alison Fetter. IUP will return to the court Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27 at the ITA Regionals in Bloomsburg, Pa. Singles No. 1 - Chloe Pike (IUP) d. Luisiana Souto, 6-1, 6-1 No. 2 - Katie Eaton (IUP) d.
