Kristin Consuegra is in her second season on the IUP coaching staff after a standout career as a member of the volleyball team at Saint Vincent. A graduate student at IUP, Consuegra is pursuing a master of science degree in sports management. She was a four-year starter at setter for the Bearcats and served as team captain her final two seasons. She received the 2007 Bearcat Athletic Award which honors Saint Vincent's most outstanding female athlete. Consuegra holds several Saint Vincent volleyball records, including most assists in a season with 1,592, most aces in a season with 95 and most career aces with 298. She was on the Presidents Athletic Conference all-conference team twice and was chosen to the NAIA American Mideast Conference all-freshman team. As a senior in 2007, Consuegra was selected the ECAC Division II Most Outstanding Player. Consuegra led the Bearcats to two consecutive ECAC Division II championships in 2006 and 2007 and the American Mideast Conference North Division title in 2005. Consuegra was a two-time PIAA all-state player at Geibel Catholic High School before attending Saint Vincent, where she earned her bachelor's degree in communications. She resides in Blairsville. |
