Danielle Ostendorf lead IUP in a 3-0 loss to PSAC opponent Gannon Friday evening at the Hammermill Center. The Crimson Hawks dropped to 15-12 on the season and 8-6 in conference play. Gannon improved to 19-6 overall and 10-4 in the division. Earlier this season the Golden Knights swept IUP 3-0 at Memorial Field House. In the first set IUP got on the board first with a Gannon serving error but the Golden returned to take a 25-19 win. In the second set the Crimson Hawks posted the first two points with a Morgan Cerveny kill followed by an attack error form Gannon but the Golden Knights would take a 25-21 victory. In the third set Gannon jumped out to a four point lead to take a 25-19 win. The Crimson Hawks were led by Ostendorf with four kills and a team high three blocks. Emily Pany, who lead the PSAC in digs, posted an ace and 12 digs. Chelsey Kreinbrook led IUP with 18 assists and seven digs and Laura McFadden added 10 digs. Cerveny recorded a team leading .250 hitting percentage, while Alyssa Prince had five kills for IUP. The Crimson Hawks will be back on the road Sunday against Edinboro at 3:00 p.m. before a three game home stand. |
