IUP rallied from a 2-0 deficit but could not complete the comeback in a 3-2 loss to Alderson-Broaddus in a non-conference match Friday night at Memorial Field House. After losing the first two games 25-22 and 25-19, the Crimson Hawks bounced back for 25-22 and 25-21 victories in games three and four before the Battlers took a 15-7 victory in the fifth and deciding game. The loss dropped IUP to 13-16 on the season. Maddie Schulte and Tessa Siewert both reached double figures in kills for IUP. Schulte had 18 kills to go along with 11 digs and three blocks while Siewert recorded 13 kills. Danielle Ostendorf finished with nine kills and a team-high four blocks. Emily McCombie reached double figures in assists with 39 and digs with 17. Emily Pany paced the Crimson Hawks with 24 digs, and Emily Vaughn contributed 15. IUP returns to PSAC West play Saturday with a 2 p.m. match versus Clarion at Memorial Field House. |
