IUP ran into a hot Mercyhurst team Thursday night and dropped a 3-0 decision in a PSAC West volleyball match, losing to the Lakers by scores of 25-21, 25-11, 25-16. The Crimson Hawks are 15-20 overall and 1-10 in the PSAC West entering their final match of the season Friday at Gannon. Mercyhurst improved to 20-13 and evened their division record at 6-6. Tessa Siewert had eight kills, two blocks and one ace for IUP. Maddie Schulte added seven kills and Alyssa Prince had five. Chelsey Kreinbrook handed out 24 assists, and Emily Pany recorded 14 digs. The Lakers hit .442 in the match, recording 48 kills against only 10 errors. Katie Fritz was one of three Mercyhurst players in double digits in kills with 13, followed by Lauren Kubinski with 11 and Jenna Matson with 10. |
