IUP dropped the first game but then won three in a row to down host
Alderson-Broaddus by a scored of 3-1 Tuesday night in Philippi, W.Va.
The Crimson Hawks won for
the fourth straight time to improve to 4-6 on the season.
Four
IUP players reached double figures in kills, led by Tessa Irwin with 19.
She was followed in the kill column by Tessa Siewert (pictured) with 17,
Maddie Schulte with 10 and Hristina Denic with 10.
Irwin added seven blocks,
one more than Siewert, and had three service aces. Emily McCombie
directed the offense with 54 assists and added eight digs.
Emily Pany continued her
solid defensive play at libero with a match-high 31 digs. Krista
Nordby added 14 digs and Denic contributed nine.
IUP returns home this
weekend with three matches as part of a PSAC/WVIAC crossover tournament at
Memorial Field House.
The Crimson Hawks take on
Fairmont State Friday at 7:30 followed by matches on Saturday against West
Virginia Wesleyan (11 a.m.) and Seton Hill (7:30).
