IUP dropped a five-game decision to West Virginia Wesleyan before coming
back to blank Seton Hill to conclude play at the PSAC/WVIAC crossover
tournament at Memorial Field House.
The Crimson Hawks (6-7) saw their five-match winning streak end after the
Bobcats rallied from two games down to take a 27-30, 27-30, 30-23, 30-24,
15-12 victory. IUP then posted a 30-22, 30-26, 30-21 triumph over the
Griffins to get back on the winning track.
Freshman
Tessa Irwin (pictured) continued her solid play with 33 kills in the two
matches. She had 18 kills with only two errors, hitting .667 against West
Virginia Wesleyan. Irwin came back in the second match of the day to post
15 kills against Seton Hill.
Tessa Siewert had 12 kills against Seton Hill and 10 against West Virginia
Wesleyan, a figure matched in the latter contest by Hristina Denic and
Maddie Schulte. Siewert had four blocks and 10 digs against the Griffins,
and Sandy Rambow had four blocks against the Bobcats.
Emily McCombie had a total of 68 assists in the two matches and four service
aces against West Virginia Wesleyan while Emily Pany made 35 digs, including
22 against Seton Hill. Chelsey Kreinbrook had 15 assists against the
Bobcats.
IUP stays home for its PSAC West opener on Tuesday against defending NCAA
Atlantic Region champion Lock Haven. The match gets under way at 7 p.m.
