Emily Pany and Jessica Bodkin were named to the All-PSAC West second team for the 2009 season in balloting by conference head coaches. This is the first time Pany and Bodkin were named to the all conference team.

"I am very proud of Emily and Jessica for what they accomplished on the court this season and how they contributed to our team's success," head coach Zack Shaver said. "We look for them to maintain their high level of execution as they become seniors in 2010."

Pany, a junior libero from Coplay, Pa., and a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic, led the Crimson Hawks with 693 digs and average of 5.78 digs per set. This season Pany was ranked as high as third in the nation and first in the PSAC in digs per set before finishing the year ranked fifth in the country.

Pany recorded her best performance of the season with 44 digs against Kutztown in a 3-2 victory followed by 43-dig performance against Ashland. In 2007 she recorded 703 digs followed by 533 digs in 2008. For her career she has a school record of 1,929 digs.

Bodkin, a junior outside hitter from Newport Beach, Calif., and a transfer from Orange Coast Junior College led IUP in kills and serving aces. She had 396 kills on the season for an average of 3.08 kills per set to rank eighth in the PSAC. She also posted 35 serving aces and ranked third on the team with 60 blocks.

She had her best performance of the season against Alderson-Broaddus with a .341 attack percentage and 21 kills. Bodkin led the Crimson Hawks past Alderson-Broaddus and Slippery Rock to be named the PSAC West Player of the Week on October 7. She was the only IUP player to receive the award this season.

"We are excited about what the future holds for IUP volleyball in 2010 and next year's senior class of Pany, Bodkin and Chelsey Kreinbrook," Shaver said.
