Tessa Siewert earned a berth on the All-PSAC team

IUP sophomore middle blocker Tessa Siewert has been named to the All-PSAC West second team for the 2008 season in balloting by the conference head coaches.

Siewert (York/Central York) led the Crimson Hawks and ranked sixth in the PSAC in hitting percentage at .329 while placing in a tie for sixth in the conference with 0.43 aces per game. She averaged 2.18 kills, 0.67 blocks and 0.40 digs per game.

Siewert was selected the PSAC West Player of the Week on October 14 when she had 44 kills, 21 blocks, 13 aces and nine digs to help IUP win four of five matches.

On the season, she had 12 matches with double figures in kills, led by 15 versus Wheeling Jesuit and 13 versus Davis & Elkins and Alderson-Broaddus. Siewert posted season highs in blocks with seven versus Gannon, six digs versus Shepherd and six aces versus Bowie State.
