ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three games in, and three shutouts for the IUP Field Hockey team as they defeated Roberts Wesleyan 3-0 on Sunday for their third consecutive shutout. The Hawks have outscored their opponents 14-0 through three games.
IUP out shot RWU 23-0, with 15 of the Crimson Hawks' shots getting on goal.
Grace McGeehan scored her first Crimson Hawk goal to open the scoring in the second quarter.
Lilly Fringer and Jess Davidosn followed that up with goals of their own. Fringer's was the second of her season, while Davidson's was her fifth.
The Hawks turned up the pressure on Roberts as the team recorded 15 penalty corners, compared to none from RWU.
IUP will have one game this week, as the team will travel to Kutztown on Wednesday. The game will start at 5:30 pm.
