IUP honored the memory of lacrosse recruit Shannon Quail prior to the game and then went out and defeated Edinboro 16-6 Thursday night at Miller Stadium.
Corinne Miller scored four goals and Beth Glasshagel and Stephanie Bianco both found the net three times to lead the Crimson Hawks to their fourth win of the season, eclipsing the total of last year.
Becca Vogt and Alex Slinkard scored two goals and Lauren Montague and Sarah DeMaio scored one. Glasshagel, Vogt and Slinkard each had an assist while Katie Lee made 13 saves in 47 minutes of action in goal.
Miller scored three goals in the first half to help the Crimson Hawks build an 8-2 lead. Vogt scored her two goals as part of a 4-0 run at the start of the second half as IUP pulled away.
Quail, a three-year letterwinner at Seneca Valley High School, signed with IUP and was to begin her college lacrosse career this fall but was killed in a car accident in Pittsburgh on January 18. In high school she was named to the All-WPIAL and all-section team in 2007 and 2008.
