Men's Basketball Ranked 16th in Latest NABC/Division II Poll

NABC/Division II Coaches' Poll

KANSAS CITY, MO - The IUP men's basketball team is ranked 16th in the latest version of the National Association of Basketball Coaches/Division II Men's Basketball Poll, it was announced Tuesday.

The Crimson Hawks dropped six spots from 10th after splitting a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West games last week. Julian Sanders (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead IUP to a 59-51 win over Edinboro on Wednesday, but the Crimson Hawks struggled on the road Saturday, falling to Mercyhurst 71-47.

IUP received 78 points in the voting,  just eight behind Christian Brothers (TN) for the 15th spot in the rankings. Bellarmine (KY)returns to the top spot in the rankings after holding the No. 1 spot in the season's initial poll, while West Liberty (WV) comes in at 2nd on the list. Metro State (CO), Tarleton State (TX) and Lincoln Memorial (TN) round out the top five.

The Crimson Hawks return to the court tomorrow night when they host PSAC West opponent Lock Haven at the Kovalchick Complex. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
