Crimson Hawks in the Community
INDIANA, PA - It may be the offseason, but the IUP football team has been hard at work off the gridiron recently. The team volunteered at Eisenhower Elementary School on March 1 to participate in National Reading Day.
Members of the team and coaching staff read books to the second grade classes at Eisenhower, and helped to stress the importance of reading every day. Players in attendance at the event included
Marvens Toussaint (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Port Charlotte),
Shane Meisner (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield ) and
Johnny Franco (Altoona/Tyrone), while Assistant Coach
Paul Tortorella read from childrens books by Dr. Seuss.
The IUP Athletic Department is dedicated to giving back to the Indiana Community, and IUP student-athletes strive to make a difference in their neighborhood.
