IUP to Celebrate Title IX During Halftime of Women's Basketball Game on Saturday

INDIANA, PA - IUP will celebrate Title IX while also honoring the individual contributions of Ruth Podbielski at halftime of the Crimson Hawks women's basketball game against Slippery Rock this Saturday evening. 

Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 is a federal law that states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.” The NCAA has celebrated the 40th anniversary of Title IX for the past year.

Included in the evening will be a short video during halftime followed by a special presentation to Ruth Podbielski, who efforts to improve IUP women's athletic programs over the years has proven to be beneficial to many.  

Alumni of IUP women's sports have been invited back to attend the festivities.

IUP to WHITEOUT the KCAC Against Slippery Rock on Saturday Night

INDIANA, PA - Help the Crimson Hawks men's basketball team "WHITEOUT" the KCAC this weekend as they host rival Slippery Rock on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear their white IUP gear to the game and show support to the school's women's athletic programs, which will be selling WHITEOUT t-shirts at the game. Proceeds of these t-shirt sales will go to support women's athletics.

This is one of several chances to support IUP women's athletics throughout the year with sponsored games happening in each the fall, winter and spring seasons. Student-athletes will be selling official BLACKOUT and WHITEOUT t-shirt bundles for $20.
