INDIANA, PA - It may be the offseason, but the IUP football team was hard at work off the gridiron recently, taking part in National Read Across America Day.

Members of the football team and coaching staff read books to elementary school students, and helped to stress the importance of reading every day.

Crimson Hawks in attendance at the event included Nick Carnicella (Greensburg/Hempfield), Alexander Berdahl (Ashburn, Va./Bishop O'Connell), Mike Box (Lawrenceville, GA/Collins Hill), De'Antwan Williams (Woodbridge, VA/Woodbridge), Carl Fleming (Reisterstown, MD/Franklin), Pat Brewer (Coatesville/Coatesville), and assistant coach Jim Smith.
 
The IUP Athletic Department is dedicated to giving back to the Indiana Community, and IUP student-athletes strive to make a difference in their neighborhood.
