Chelsea O'Hanlon and Matt Rutt helped IUP sweep the PSAC champion scholar awards at the outdoor track & field championships.
MILLERSVILLE, PA – IUP's Matt Rutt (Sinking Spring/Wilson) and Chelsea O'Hanlon (Glenshaw/Shaler) have been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Champion Scholar Athletes at the men's and women's outdoor track & field championships on Saturday at Millersville.

Rutt, a junior sport science major currently has a 3.944 grade point average and has completed 109 credits towards his degree. This is his second champion scholar award, also being named at the 2012 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. O'Hanlon is also a junior and currently has a 4.0 grade point average in English Education. She has completed 85 credits towards her degree.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III.
