Mitchell Blasts Three Home Runs, Including Walk-off, as Softball Advances in PSAC Championships

QUAKERTOWN, PA - Jasa Mitchell (Snow Shoe/Bald Eagle Area) hit a walk-off three-run home run to lead IUP to a 7-5 win over West Chester in the Crimson Hawks' second game on Friday in the 2014 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Softball Championships.

IUP defeated Bloomsburg 9-0 in five innings in the first of two elimination wins for the Crimson Hawks this afternoon. Mitchell hit two homers in that game as IUP totaled six on the day. Allison Viguers (West Chester/West Chester East) hit two - one in each game - and Hannah Mercer (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg Area) put one over the fence in the first game. 

Alexa Campbell (Manheim/Manheim Central ) got the win against Bloomsburg while Amanda Spindler (Brownsburg, IN/Cathedral) picked up the victory in relief against West Chester.

The Crimson Hawks have won three in a row after moving to the loser's bracket and will face off against rival California (PA) on Saturday morning for the right to play Shippensburg for the PSAC title.
